Come see if you can solve the mystery!!!!
The Hartford Fire Enterprise is hosting a Murder Mystery Dinner fundraiser. Come for a pasta dinner, salad, roll, dessert and fun!! We'll have cocktail hour from 5-6, then dinner and clues will be given out the entire night. *Cash bar available.
There will be main and supporting character options, so you can be as involved in the game as you'd like. *If you'd like to attend and hang back, that's fine, you can still try and figure out whodunit by being a supporting character.
A Google form will be posted soon, along with payment options. Tickets will be $40/person. Both will be due by 9/8/24 to reserve your spot. There are a limited number of spots available.
Character assignments will be sent out the week of 9/9. Plenty of time to find something to wear to match your character! Let's have some fun!

Grant Notification 2023
Hartford Fire Department was awarded a grant from the Warren County Philanthropic Partnership, making it possible for us to purchase 3 new sets of structure gear! This would not have been possible without the generosity of the amazing people that make up this organization! Thank you for partnering with us to help make this happen!

Grant Notification 2019
The HVFD was lucky enough to get 2 grants from Prairie Meadows in 2019 to help keep our firefighters safe and to help serve our community and surrounding area better. Our total amount in grants received was $40,000.00. We now have a new set of Extrication Tools and a Dexter Washing machine specifically for our fire gear!!!! A special thanks to Prairie Meadows for their gracious gift that will help so many people. Your gifts do not go unnoticed!!!
Grant Notification 2018
Hartford Fire Department was awarded two grants recently by Prairie Meadows resulting in the purchase of some new landing zone markers and an expansive rope rescue kit. Neither purchase would have been possible without the funds that Prairie Meadows made available to us. Thank you Prairie Meadows for teaming up with us to help make our community a safer place!!
Welcome Baby Kagen
It's not everyday we get to be part of helping a new life come into this world. On May 28th, 2017 we got to do just that. The family came and shared the new little one with us! Welcome Kagen! UPDATE Photo of Kagen at 1 year!
Certificate of Recognition
January 14, 2017
"So I get the privilege of being the Fire Chief of the best Volunteer Department in the Midwest!!!! Its been awesome getting to see how our roster of members has turned into a family. I'm extremely proud of every single one of my members and the work and dedication they put into serving the community and people around us. We thank the community for their support of us. Everyone is very deserving of their life saving awards tonight. Thanks again Scott Ourth for your kind words and faith in what we work so hard to do." - Chief Prickett
A Special Guest at Open House
October 11, 2016
In the early morning of August 6th, this gentleman was having one of the worst days of his life. He was on a sandbar in the Des Moines river camping and having a near fatal heart attack. With a orchestrated response of several agencies the Hartford FD backup rescue boat was launched and picked him up and got him to safety. Life saving measures were given and as a result he is with us today. He stopped by our open house tonight to say hi and was very grateful and thankful. Some hugs, some laughs and even some tears from us. Glad to see him walking and able to come visit us tonight.
Special Equipment
October 11, 2016
HVFD received a grain bin rescue set that was purchased with fund from a private donor. A huge thank you to the donor! Our members will take time to learn how to use the system. Several lives are saved each year in Iowa due to equipment like this.
If you would like to find out more or how to donate to the department for further assistance in grain bin rescue please reach out to Chief Prickett.

When there's a call, we come from many walks of life, leave our jobs and family to help yours. In this case farmers left the field to come help! We have such a great group of members on our department. Our community only deserves the best, and that's what our community has! - Photo from Lt. Atkin
