Medic 234 -

234 is our first out ambulance.  HVFD is a EMT level ambulance provider with 8 certified EMTs.  234 carries equipment that these medics can use to perform live saving procedures that have to be done very quickly.  Our medics get regular training and must obtain continuing education to remain certified.

HVFD contracts with Fraser Ambulance Service out of Des Moines for Paramedic level assistance when their services are required.

Utility 529 -

529 is our ATV used for both EMS rescue and fire suppression. This ATV was donated to the department from Struther's Brothers in Des Moines.  This unit is towed on a trailer by Command 520 or Attack 528.  This unit is in service and loaded on a trailer when not in use for quick response.

What can you do in the back of an ambulance?
